Eye Serum:

3 Products For The Eye Area.

Today I am sharing with you my opinion on Obagi Elastiderm Eye Complete Complex Serum, The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% and on my absolutely favorite for over many years Revital Lift Loreal Paris.

Direct Comparison of Three Eye Serum Products.

I have been using eye creams as long as I remember using creams at all. Some of them didn’t make any difference. Some of them I have been loving since I’d discovered them. What is the difference and which ones really work?

Number one

is the most expensive Obagi Eye Serum. I paid 50,00 EUR for 14 ml. Just to be fair I have to tell you, that 14 ml have lasted for a long, long time. I would say nearly a year of daily usage.

The Producer claims: “The ELASTIderm Eye formulation you love, now with the added benefits of caffeine!
Feeling a little tired? Give yourself a boost of caffeine! We’re not talking about your morning coffee, but actually a new eye serum by Obagi that will wake up your eyes! Introducing the new ELASTIderm Eye Complete Complex Serum—the next-generation ELASTIderm Eye formulation, now with the benefits of caffeine delivered via an innovative rollerball technology!”

Obagi Elastiderm Eye Serum Complete Complex.

“Caffeine is an antioxidant that helps reduce puffiness under the eyes, and the ELASTIderm Eye Complete Complex Serum combines this key ingredient with bi-mineral complex and malonic acid to help replenish elasticity and support collagen for tighter, smoother-looking skin. So get your dose of caffeine and look refreshed and awake with the new ELASTIderm Eye Complete Complex Serum.”

When to apply.

As I didn’t notice any visual difference in the first hour after applying I started to use it in the evening, just before going to bed. And yes, I did saw the difference in the morning. It seemed as if my eyes were more open than usual. The morning puffiness was not the issue anymore.

If you are someone like me, who likes to drink liquids in the evening. I love my cozy tea and sometimes I forget the time and drink too much of it late in the evening. So then you are like me know exactly, that in the morning you would have difficulties to see your own eyes :). This product actually helps with this problem.
Despite the high price, you’ll love the effect of this eye serum on your skin and the the Obagi Serum would last for a long time.

Number two

is Eye Serum “The Ordinary” product. It is very similar to Obagi Serum. 5% Caffeine should do the trick.
For 30 ml you would pay around 7,00 EUR

The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5%.

The Producer claims:
“This light-textured formula contains an extremely high 5% concentration of caffeine, supplemented with highly-purified Epigallocatechin Gallatyl Glucoside (EGCG) from green tea leaves. Independent studies have shown that topical use of each of caffeine and EGCG can help reduce looks of puffiness and of dark circles in the eye contour. Additional studies have shown that caffeine can also reduce the appearance of cellulite.”

Notes:

“1. Hollowness in the eye contour as a result of the structure of sub-dermal tissues like fat and bone can result in visible shadows under the eyes. This shadow, which is not to be mistaken for dark circles, cannot be addressed with topical skincare including this formula.

2. Fat deposits under the eye contour can create permanent puffiness in this area. This type of deposit cannot be improved with topical skincare, including this formula.

3. Supplied in UV-protective packaging as EGCG is sensitive to light.
Directions
Massage a small amount onto the eye contour AM and PM.”

Ingredients:

Aqua (Water), Caffeine, Maltodextrin, Glycerin, Propanediol, Epigallocatechin Gallatyl Glucoside, Gallyl Glucoside, Hyaluronic Acid, Oxidized Glutathione, Melanin, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract, Urea, Pentylene Glycol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, Xanthan gum, Lactic Acid, Dehydroacetic Acid, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Propyl Gallate, Dimethyl Isosorbide, Ethoxydiglycol, Benzyl Alcohol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol.

How to use.

I would say this product works exactly like Obagi Serum, meaning I would use it in the evening just to benefit from the effect at the most.
As a visual result is concerned, you could be a bit disappointed by the direct comparison with Obagi Serum, but in the long run, the effect would be the same.

If you are on the go and need something practical, then try Obagi Serum. It comes in a nice container with a roller at the end. Very practical to use.
Ordinary Product comes in a glass bottle with a dropper. So maybe it’s not very convenient on the road.

If you have an important meeting or just a nice date, I would recommend using Obagi, therefore you would certainly see that your eyes look more open and alive in the morning.

Number 3.

And the last and not least the Loreal eye cream, that I have been using as long as I can remember. This is my absolute favorite product, very affordable and it works every time. I apply it onto my eye area and in 20 minutes I can see my eyes getting bigger  :), puffiness disappears and the fine wrinkles become invisible.
You can get this product in every drugstore or just a supermarket for about 10,00 EUR for 15 ml. The container would last you forever. Keep in mind: a little goes a long way. The only thing I’m worrying about is that Loreal would stop producing this cream, because it hat been on the market for over 20 years for certain.

As Usually...

As usual, please don’t rely on my personal review, you have to try the products for yourself. Not to forget I have sensitive and really thin skin around my eyes.
If I had to decide, I would probably buy Obagi Serum and still would always have Loreal product for the daytime.
Please click on the pictures below, if you want to check out the products for yourself.

Have fun and let me know...

Have fun and let me know what you think. Which creams do you use? Which ones do you like most.
Not to forget, this is not a promotion article. I don’t get any money and I don’t advertise for any of the mentioned Producers. This article is about my personal experience.
